7-Day Honeymoon Itinerary for Fiji Road Tripping Around Viti Levu

Day 1 – Nadi to the Suncoast

(c) Mark Snyder – Tourism Fiji
Travel time: 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on where you stay
After landing at Nadi International Airport, pick up your car rental and hit the road! Today, you’ll be exploring the Suncoast, the northern region of Viti Levu spanning between Lautoka and Korovou. The heart of the Suncoast is Rakiraki (2 hours from Nadi), home to a number of laidback four-star resorts, upmarket hotels, and a luxury private island resort. On your way through the Suncoast, check out the bustling markets in Lautoka, stop by architectural sights like the Church of the Black Christ, or even take a special inland trip to the Navala Village with traditional “bures” (make sure your car is 4×4 for Navala). See more recommendations in 10 Must-Dos on the Suncoast or check out The Wedding & Honeymoon Guide to the Suncoast for more advice.

Day 2 – Suncoast

(c) Chris McLennan – Tourism Fiji
It’s time to do a little more exploring of the Suncoast, whether it’s snorkeling or scuba diving at some of the amazing outer coral reefs of the Bligh Water or sticking to dry land with a day trek into the stunning interior of Viti Levu visiting villages and waterfalls with Talanoa Treks. There are certainly ways to relax (this is “Fiji time” after all) perhaps with a couples’ massage or a romantic private dinner on the pontoon of Dolphin Island.  Here are some more romantic recommendations…
Romantic Activities on the Suncoast
•    Snorkel or scuba dive together in the famous Bligh Water
•    Kayak around the islands of Nananu-i-Ra and Nananu-i-Cake
•    Treat yourselves to a romantic sunset cruise
•    Indulge a candlelit private dinner on a floating pontoon
•    Go on a journey of discovery together with a guided trek through Viti Levu’s interior with Talanoa Treks
For more information on each of these activities, check out 10 Romantic Activities on the Suncoast for Couples.

Day 3 – Suncoast to Suva

(c) Tourism Fiji
Travel time: 2-3 hours depending on where you stayed
Get back on the road today and enjoy a scenic road trip through the rest of the Suncoast region to Suva, Fiji’s capital city. When you reach Wailotua Village, ask for a guide to see the Snake God Cave with amazing limestone formations. You can also stop by Takalana Bay Retreat for one of their amazing dolphin cruises on the Moon Reef. When you arrive in Suva, you might want to check out the Fiji Museum or the Municipal Market. There are also fantastic short walks through the Colo-i-Suva Forest Park to beautiful waterfalls. Guided walks of Colo-i-Suva are also available with Kay Services Tour. But in terms of romantic experiences, the offering in Suva isn’t huge. Nevertheless, this is what we have got…
Romantic Activities in Suva
•    Indulge in a rejuvenation couples’ spa treatment
•    Enjoy fine dining together at the historic Grand Pacific Hotel
•    Tackle Mt Korobaba, Suva’s highest peak, together

Day 4 – Suva to the Pacific Harbour

(c) Chris McLennan – Tourism Fiji
Travel time: 40 minutes
There’s so much to do on the Pacific Harbour and its off-shore islands that we recommend leaving Suva early to fit in a couple of full days of experiences. The Pacific Harbour is known as Fiji’s “Adventure Capital” thanks to its offering of white water rafting, jet boat tours, ziplining, shark diving, jet skiing and more! If you’re adventure-seekers then you’ll have more than enough to do. Otherwise, there are certainly more excuses to relax with a cocktail in hand, get a massage or go on a sunset cruise.
