The Catlins/Fiordland National Park/Wildlife encounters
Day 1: Explore Christchurch

Start your journey in bustling Christchurch, a city that has stayed true to its heritage while growing into a contemporary and creative destination. Enjoy a thriving cafe culture and craft beer scene, before escaping to the Port Hills for stunning views. Or try the ever-popular punting on the Avon River and discover the French charm of the Banks Peninsula and Akaroa.

Day 2: Drive to Dunedin

Continue your journey to Dunedin and take a trip on the Taieri Gorge Railway, explore the Gothic local architecture and learn about the region's rich history. Head south along the beautiful Otago Peninsula and see endangered yellow-eyed penguins in their natural habitat - a rare and wonderful sight.

Day 3: Experience Wilderness in the Catlins

If you're looking for deserted, sandy beaches, untamed nature and rugged beauty, there is nowhere better than the Catlins. Don't miss the cascading Purakaunui Falls, sweeping Tautuku Bay, or the lighthouse perched atop Nugget Point, an iconic landform on the Otago Coast.

Day 4: Discover Fiordland National Park

Explore Fiordland National Park, where you can extend your stay and walk the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track, known for its incredible beach, forest and mountain views. Head deeper into the Park and marvel at the stunning fiords of Milford Sound. Carved by glaciers during the Ice Age, you will be in awe of the towering peaks, cascading waterfalls and dramatic scenery.
