Maasai Wanderings in the Mara
ITINERARY

1
Nairobi
Wildlife
After landing in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi off a flight from London, the VIP treatment begins straight away. A Swissport assistant will meet you airside and guide you through the airport to where a guide will be waiting to whisk you away to the unique Giraffe Manor. This boutique hotel set in 12 acres of private land boasts original 1930s architecture and is one of Nairobi's most iconic buildings. The elegant interior and lush surroundings are topped only by the fact the hotel is also home to a herd of Rothschilds giraffes. Like walking into the film Out Of Africa this giraffe roam the verdant green gardens and occasionally even poke their heads through your window! Enjoy dinner and local specialty drinks before retiring to your superior room in the main manor house.

2-4
Maasai Mara
Wildlife
Before leaving the manor you'll get a chance to feed some of the friendly resident giraffes – right from your breakfast table. After this unforgettable start to the day, enjoy a private transfer to the airport and a short flight taking you to the exclusive Olare Orok Private Conservancy. Thanks to its strictly controlled visitor numbers, this private reserve in the Maasai Mara boasts famous figures, including Richard Branson who owns the luxury safari camp you'll be staying at. On arrival at the airstrip, you'll be met by a guide from Mahali Mzuri camp for your transfer. Your first taste of safari life is provided on a short game drive before arriving at your show-stopping accommodation. Once checked in, enjoy a private lunch on the deck, after which you'll have a chance to unwind before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Return to the camp for a fine dining dinner and a spot of star-gazing under the big African sky.

The next day you'll be up early in order to catch the wildlife in action on a game drive before heading back to base for a leisurely breakfast. The rest of the morning is yours to spend as you please: perhaps with a luxurious treatment in the Nasaro spa, taking advantage of the well-stocked multi-media library or having a refreshing dip in the infinity pool. A private lunch by the pool is followed by an afternoon game drive. The evening is spent in spectacular fashion with drinks as the sun sinks below the horizon and dinner under the stars in the wild African bush.

The next morning, the day begins with the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a hot air balloon safari and champagne breakfast. After which you can contemplate what you witnessed from the skies as you spend the rest of the morning relaxing in the unique and comfortable surroundings of the camp. Enjoy a private Lunch on your exclusive deck, followed by a visit to a traditional Maasai community and school where you have the choice to experience village life by helping to milk and herd the local livestock. Experience the luxury of another private dining experience before the rare and unique opportunity to go on a night game drive to find the elusive nocturnal African wildlife.

5-8
Malindi
Wildlife + Beach
Today soak up your remaining moments of the safari lifestyle with a game drive on the way to the airstrip where you will take a short flight first to Nairobi, then on to Malindi on the Kenyan coast. On arrival in Malindi, you'll be greeted by your guide and escorted to the Medina Palms hotel. Ranked as being in the top 1% of hotels in the world, at the Medina Palms you'll be staying in an exquisite one-bedroom ocean suite which will be your base to explore this stunning coastal area. Unwind before deciding how to spend your first evening by the Indian ocean – why not indulge in a cocktail by the pool before dining in a rooftop restaurant under the stars?

The next two days are free to spend as you please in this stunning beachfront location. For those wanting to get active, there's a fitness instructor on hand to help you create a personal workout in a private session, or enjoy some meditation and yoga whilst looking out onto the pristine blue Indian Ocean. You also have the chance to enjoy the turquoise waters in a range of activities such as kayaking, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling or diving in the exotic Watamu marine reserve. You could head to the rooftop Sakina Ocean spa for a spot of indulgent pampering or drop and flop on the beachfront and take in the sunshine. Further activity options include a visit to a turtle rescue sanctuary, explore 12th-century Swahili ruins, enjoy a sunset dhow cruise, kite-surf, paddleboard, windsurf, bodyboard, or play a round of golf. The opportunities are endless and the choice is yours.

After a comfortable early afternoon flight back to Nairobi on your last day, you'll be transferred to the famous Carnivore restaurant for an out of this world dinner. After dinner and when you are ready to go, your guide will transfer you to the airport to connect to your overnight flight back to London. You'll leave Kenya with Africa in your heart, and memories etched in your soul.
