Ulaanbaatar
City
When you land in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital city, you'll be taken to your hotel, the Kempinski Khan Palace, to settle in before venturing out for dinner at a local restaurant.

Your first full day in Ulaanbaatar will be spent sightseeing. You'll visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, the biggest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia that’s home to more than 500 monks. You'll also visit the National History Museum and Sukhbaatar Square before tucking into lunch at a Mongolian buffet restaurant where you'll make your own stir-fry dishes and barbecues. In the afternoon it's on to the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, once the winter home of Mongolia’s last king. The day finishes in the Zaisan Memorial Hills for a panoramic view of the city – the first of many captivating sights you’ll see on this trip.

Terelj National Park
Wildlife
Swap city life for sprawling landscapes and rural adventure. First stop: the Genghis Khan Statue Complex, home to the largest equestrian statue in the world. Then you’ll continue to Terelj National Park, known for its beautiful scenery of impressive rock formations, larch forests and sweeping grasslands. For an excellent view of the park, you will visit the Turtle Rock and Arbayala Temple, before heading off to meet a nomadic family to learn more about their lifestyle. After enjoying a horseback ride with their herdsman, it's back to the camp for dinner.

Baga Gazriin Chuluu
Activity and Adventure
It's time to head into the Mongolian wilderness. After breakfast, you’ll travel through the Mongolian countryside and out to the Middle Gobi. On the way, you’ll see Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a fascinating rock formation amid a range full of canyons, caves and a lake. Home for the night is the Erdene Ukhaa ger camp, in a 'ger', a traditional felt tent that nomads have used since ancient times. Far away from the bright city lights, the stargazing here is sensational.

Tsagaan Suvarga
Activity and Adventure
After breakfast, you'll journey through the Southern Gobi Desert in search of Tsagaan Suvarga, a fascinating white limestone cliff. Enjoy a picnic lunch and camp out again in a ger in the Tsagaan Suvarga ger camp.

Yol Valley
Activity and Adventure 
Rise and shine early for a journey to the Yol Valley. The day will be spent hiking through the eminently picturesque valley, part of the aptly named Three Beauties Mountain range of the Gobi National Park. Later that evening, you’ll watch the sunset over South Gobi from the Khan Bogd ger camp.

Khongoryn Els
Activity and Adventure
After breakfast at camp, you'll continue your explorations of the Yol Valley on foot, then head for Khongoryn Els, your next ger camp location, either the Gobi Erdene or Goblin Anar ger camp. After lunch, there’s the opportunity to meet a camel breeding family and learn more about their fascinating way of life. There's also time to explore the largest dunes in Mongolia, Khongoryn Els. They’re called the Singing Dunes and offer visitors a serene and stark landscape. Feeling energetic? Climb to the top and be rewarded with the views.

Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs
Activity and Adventure  
Go back in time to the days of the dinosaurs with a trip to Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs, the home of the first-ever discovered fossilized dinosaur egg. Your guide will explain how paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews discovered the egg and bones over a century ago. The landscapes here are mysteriously beautiful, with the name Flaming Cliffs heralding from the reddish tint in the earth that appears to glow like the sunsets. Your home for the night, the Gobi Tour ger camp.

Ongiin Khiid
Activity and Adventure 
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the vast Gobi landscape. Later you'll leave for Ongiin Khiid, comprised of the ruins of two famed monasteries. You'll explore both, the Barlim Khiid to the north and the Khutagt Khiid to the south, on an afternoon hike. Enjoy the scenic setting on the Ongi River and camp overnight at the Secret of Ongi ger camp

Kharkhorin
City
You’ll learn more about Mongolia’s ancient history with a trip to the ancient capital city, Karakhorin. This was Genghis Khan's choice as the capital of his Empire, and the surrounding Orkhon Valley was the center of action for many preceding dynasties. While you're here, you’ll visit the Erdenezuu monastery, the museum of Karakorum, Phallic Rock and Turtle Rock and will camp at the Munkhtenger or Ikh Mongol ger camp.

Ulaanbaatar
City
Today you'll search for wild horses with a visit to Khustai National Park, famous for the preservation of its ‘Przewalski’ that have been reintroduced to the wild. As well as horses, look out for other wildlife endemic to these parts. Afterward, it's back to Ulaanbaatar for a colorful Mongolian folklore concert and farewell dinner and your hotel the Kempinski Khan Palace.
