Himalayan Heights

You’ll be flying through the midnight skies as today, you board an overnight flight to Kathmandu. Once landed, your accommodating guide will transport you through the vibrant streets of Thamel (lined with colorful prayer flags) and into the welcoming arms of the Kathmandu Guest House.

Then it’s on to the wonders of the Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Sitting on the banks of the holy river Bagmati, Pashupatinath is a sight to behold and marks an important pilgrimage site for Hindus across the country. Absorb the bustling atmosphere as you spot locals lining the waters, cows roaming the riverside steps, and monkeys swinging in the trees above. At Boudhanath join throngs of pilgrims in a ritual walk around this vast stupa, spinning the prayer wheels for good fortune as you go.

Day three offers the chance for a more detailed exploration, with a tour of the capital's Durbar Square. Here, if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the Kumari – Kathmandu's living goddess – who is worshipped and adored by all. From here continue towards the Swayambhunath Temple, also known as Monkey Temple. You’ll quickly learn how it earned its name, as these local monkeys make themselves at home, sliding down banisters and hunching on the stairs! Perched high upon the hilltop, this sparkling shrine boasts spectacular views over the city.

Chitwan National Park
This morning you'll be boarding a short flight to Bharatpur, from where you'll be picked up and taken to the thriving jungle arena of Chitwan National Park. Conserving wildlife since the 1970s, there’s no better place to spot the elusive one-horned rhinos, elegant elephants and, if you're lucky, the majestic tigers and snapping gharial crocodiles.

Spring out of comfy beds at Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge and spend the next couple of days uncovering the delights of Chitwan. Take a boat ride along the Narayani River or see what other native wildlife is lurking further in the jungle. You can choose from a variety of unique activities and excursions from a jungle jeep ride to a scenic nature walk, a peaceful canoe trip to a witness local village life, and bird watching – there are many ways to enjoy the park’s hidden gems!

With ancient buildings and cobbled streets steeped in history and culture, exploration is an absolute must. You’ll have the afternoon to wander the village at your own pace. And after all of that adventure? You can kick back and relax in the hidden charms of the Old Inn.

Activity and Adventure
Is there any better way to wake up than with an early morning sunrise over the Himalayan peaks? Start the day right as the sun stretches its sparkling rays over the Nepalese landscape, transforming the dull morning sky into a magical golden hue. You’ll tuck into a hearty breakfast back at the hotel and grab your hiking boots before you are driven to the start point of your trek, stopping off on route in Pokhara to pick up your specialist trekking guide.

Boasting stunning scenery, you’ll continue on down towards the Modi River Valley, where the backdrop of the Sanctuary Lodge awaits. Panoramic views of the unconquered Fishtail Mountain welcome even the weariest of guests, as you settle in and enjoy all of the home comforts.
