Romance on the River Kwai
ITINERARY

1-5
Bangkok
City
It’s time for you newlyweds to head for Bangkok! On arrival, you’ll be met by a guide and taken to your hotel where you’ll find a bottle of sparkling wine to kick off your celebrations. You’ll spend your days in the capital touring the main attractions like Grand Palace and Wat Pho, learning about the country’s culture and spirituality and observing the city from a different perspective on a bus boat, tuk-tuks and the city’s Skytrain. You’ll also explore the surrounding area and visit a rural railway market and floating market, paddleboat around canals and visit a Buddhist temple.  On the evening of day 5, you'll visit an open-air Champagne Bar, where you can enjoy a glass accompanied by amazing views over the Bangkok Skyline. Afterward, you'll drive to Sra Bua restaurant, operated by Siam Kempinski and enjoy a modern interpretation of Thai Cuisine.

6-7
Kanchanaburi
Wildlife
Today you’re leaving the city to head to Kanchanaburi, stopping en route at the Thailand Burma Railway Centre Museum and visiting the historic River Kwai Bridge by boat ride. Back on land, you’ll take a train that crosses the bridge and you’ll drive on to Hell Fire Pass to experience the moving memorial museum (which has an excellent audio tour). You’ll check into your stunning floating accommodation and get some rest for the exciting day ahead. The next day you’ll head off on a bike tour where you’ll have the opportunity to see bathing elephants before hopping off on a kayaking session down the River Kwai.

8-10
Chiang Rai & the Golden Triangle
Wildlife
You’ll start your time in Chiang Rai by heading for the hills of Northern Thailand where you’ll visit a tea plantation and a small bakery selling fresh pastries and locally-grown coffee. You’ll continue on to several rural villages where you’ll learn from locals about their daily lives. The next day you’ll visit an elephant sanctuary where you can see these wonderful beings in their natural habitat. Spend some time getting to know the elephants with a chance to follow, photograph and even feed these majestic creatures, while they enjoy the opportunity to simply “be” elephants again.

11-12
Chiang Mai
Cruise
You’ll head onwards to Chiang Mai where you’ll board a long-tail boat and cruise for a few hours towards Thaton. Day 12 is yours to spend as you wish. There's an optional tour we can book for you where you'll visit several religious sites, learn about the country’s flourishing coffee industry and spend time with a hill tribe.

13-19
Khao Lak
Beach
It’s beach time! Today you’re off to Khao Lak on Phang-Nga's stunning west coastline. On your first night enjoy an evening sunset cruise and a private candlelit dinner at the bottom of a jungle waterfall. How romantic! You’ll also both enjoy a 1-hour couple’s massage so you can unwind after your epic trip together. If you’re hankering for an activity we can arrange for you to visit the Similan Islands for some of the best snorkeling of your life. Alternatively, you can visit Tapu Island, of James Bond fame!

On Day 19 you’ll depart for home more loved up than ever with the best honeymoon memories.
