Say farewell to the city and make your way to Kanchanaburi via a stop at the astounding Railway Track Market, where stallholders quickly pack their wares away as a local commuter train passes right through the middle of the market. Once you’ve snapped a photo at the famous Bridge over the River Kwai you’ll be taken by longtail boat to your luxury floating accommodation. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll visit the Hell Fire Pass Museum and trek through the nearby canyon whilst learning about the conditions endured by the soldiers working on the railway during the First World War. Carry on to see a spectacular seven-tiered waterfall - don’t forget to pack your swimsuit! Then it’s all about the gentle giants – you’re off to Elephants World! Set in a jungle landscape on the outskirts of Kanchanaburi, you’ll learn about the lives and plights of Thai elephants and learn how this sanctuary helps rehabilitate them. Meet the elephants and watch them go about their daily lives, foraging for food in the jungle and cooling off in the Kwai Yai River.
