ITINERARY
1-4
Hanoi
City
The day has arrived at last! Pack any last-minute items, hurry the family out the door and catch your overnight flight to Hanoi. Once you’ve settled into your hotel, head out and explore the capital of Vietnam at your own pace or chill out at the hotel pool ready for the guided full-day tour the following day. You’ll start at the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university and an excellent example of traditional Vietnamese architecture. You’ll continue sightseeing before heading to a residential neighborhood for lunch with a local family who worked for the Vietnamese army during the war. Listen to their fascinating stories over a cup of Vietnamese tea and home-cooked local specialties.

5-6
Halong Bay
Cruise
Say goodbye to city life and hop aboard a traditional junk boat for a two-night cruise around Halong Bay, reached by a thrilling speedboat transfer. Enjoy lunch while watching the stunning, ever-changing scenery and karst limestone cliffs; later on, you’ll have the opportunity to hop off to swim or kayak at the Ba Trai Dao beach area. Back on board try your hand at a traditional cooking class - or what about a spot of night squid fishing? Head to bed at a reasonable hour so you can catch the early morning tai chi class (optional)!

7-9
Lang Co
Beach
Get ready for beach bum paradise, Lang Co: think crystal clear waters lapping palm-fringed white sands and you’ve got the right idea. Enjoy relaxing by the beach, playing in the resort pool and sipping something delicious at the pool bar. If all that relaxing leaves you restless, enjoy an optional day trip out to Hue where you’ll visit Khai Dinh's Tomb, explore ruins and take a cyclo (3-wheeled rickshaw) from Old City to Tinh Lake.

10-11
Hoi An
City
Arrive in historic Hoi An via the spectacular Hai Van Pass (you might recognize it from Top Gear), a 21km long road that winds up and over a mountain range, offering incredible views of the coastline and towns below.

Once in Hoi An, you'll take an orientation tour of the main streets and markets. Have a go at making a traditional colorful lantern, which you can flat pack to take home to remind you all of your travels. The next day you can either explore the city at your leisure or indulge in an optional cookery class, jeep tour or countryside bicycle ride.

12-15
Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
City
It’s time to make your way towards the captivating former capital of Vietnam, Saigon. On the way, you’ll stop at the Cu Chi tunnels and hear how residents utilized the underground network during the war era. Enjoy exploring the city at your own pace or sign up for a guided tour, a night at the Opera House or Water Puppet Show performance. On your last day, you’ll cruise along the Ham Luong River, stopping to visit a coconut processing workshop, explore a local’s fruit gardens and enjoy kayaking along the river.

On Day 15 you’ll all head home, with wonderful family memories of your Vietnam holiday.
