Song of the Sirens
ITINERARY
1
Naples
City
When you arrive in Naples, you’ll be met by your private driver and transferred to your hotel, the Grand Vesuvio. This evening, you’ll set out on foot on an authentic Naples-style street food experience with a local guide. Walk around the local market, calling in at various osterias to sample traditional dishes, both sweet and savory - from deep-fried local fish, folded pizza, and sfogliatella (pastry filled with ricotta and candied fruit).

2-3
Sorrento
Activity & Adventure
This morning you'll be picked up by your private guide, and head to Mount Vesuvius where you can climb the path for 20 minutes to the crater. The walk is relatively easy and worth it. The last eruption of Vesuvius was in 1944 and the next one is overdue – fear not, the volcano is monitored around the clock by sensors located around the crater, which sent data to the Vesuvius Observatory. We've included lunch and a wine tasting session at a local winery afterward, so you can recover and rest your tired legs! After lunch, head to your hotel in Sorrento, the Grand Excelsior Vittoria. This evening you’ll get a real taste of authentic Italian life. At the marina, meet a local fisherman who will take you out on his boat, where you'll have the chance to catch your own fish for dinner. Your fish will be cooked on board the boat, which you'll enjoy with fresh local dishes as the sun goes down.

On day 3, you’ll explore the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79 coated Pompeii in a layer of burning pumice stone and ash, preserving the town. The result is a haunting and completely engrossing archaeological site, where you can walk along ancient Roman streets and peer into houses, shops, and amphitheaters. Twenty minutes’ drive north, Herculaneum is smaller and easier to navigate. This town was ruined by an earthquake, a few years before the devastating volcano that also covered Pompeii. A guide will accompany you through both sites, bringing them to life and telling stories about their history.

4-5
Capri
Beach
Transfer to the jetty this morning where you'll be taken by private boat along the coastline to the stunning island of Capri. Check in to your hotel, the Punta Tragara, where the rest of the day is yours to relax, or start exploring the island independently. Occupying a panoramic location with views across Marina Piccola Bay, the Punta Tragara is the perfect place to unwind, with two outdoor pools, a restaurant serving local food, and a poolside bar. If you fancy going for a walk, Piazzetta Square is only 10 minutes away.

The following day we've reserved a private boat that will take you around the scenic coast of Capri. You'll explore the pretty grottoes and enjoy a picnic lunch on board your boat, accompanied by locally-made limoncello. Included is a visit to the famous Blue Grotto. This is a popular attraction but worth the wait as your rowboat will take you through the cave, floating on top of bafflingly beautiful sapphire waters.

6-8
Positano
Beach
After a restful morning in Capri, you’ll be driven to the colorful town of Positano, where the rest of the day is yours to settle into your hotel, the Covo Dei Saraceni. With an enviable seafront location, the pool of the hotel is the perfect place to relax with a cocktail and enjoy views of the ocean and the town. Precariously perched on the cliffs, Positano’s pink and terracotta-hued houses seem to tumble into the sea. Offering a slow pace of life and an air of glamour, the town lends itself to a slow day; be it over a coffee or a lingering walk between little shops.

Day 7 is dedicated to leisure. You can lounge beside the pool, take a lazy walk down to the seafront, or if you’re feeling energetic we highly recommend a hike along the Path of Gods. This 8-mile hike from Bomerano to Nocelle, just outside Positano, offers incredible views of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and tiny coastal villages below. It can be tough going in parts but is incredibly rewarding as you’ll be walking along paths hewn into dramatic ridges, often on the cloud line. You’ll feel like you’re hiking the in heavens!

On your final day, you’ll be met by your driver and driven back to the airport in Naples.
