ITINERARY
1-2
Central Valley
Wildlife
After your transfer to the Finca Rosa Blanca Hotel, this 12-day adventure starts the next day in Costa Rica’s Central Valley with a private full-day tour of La Paz Waterfall Gardens. The Gardens are spread over 70 acres of private reserve and are home to science exhibits, hiking trails, five waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife. Head to the hummingbird garden and spot 26 different species of these colorful and fascinating birds (see if you can count them all!). Explore the vibrant butterfly garden and learn about their lifecycle and metamorphosis. Stop by La Casita de La Paz, a farmhouse reconstruction that gives a cultural insight into the lives of rural Costa Ricans and takes a tractor ride through a dairy farm to a wonderful vantage point to see the mighty Poas Volcano. After trying your hand at milking a cow, walk the cloud forest trail and admire the beautiful native flora and fauna. The day finishes at Corso Gallos, an old milk parlor restaurant to sample a traditional meal.
