ITINERARY
1-4
Buenos Aires
Activity and Adventure
Once you touch down in Buenos Aires, you’ll be met and taken to the Interior Recoleta Hotel to settle in. Spend the afternoon as you please – why not make the most of your central location and give the kids a chance to stretch their legs in the city’s parks after the flight?

On your first full day, you’ll get to know Buenos Aires better on a city tour, starting at the Plaza de Mayo, then visiting the oldest underground line in South America. Then you’ll head to Café Tortoni for their famously delicious hot chocolate. Walk it off with a stroll through La Boca where you’ll stop at the Boca Junior Football Stadium, home to one of Argentina's most famous teams and the former team of Diego Maradona. From here it’s on to the Abasto area. While it’s best known for Tango, it’s also popular with little ones thanks to its fun and interactive Children’s Museum. Afterward, you’ll visit the Argentine Museum of Natural Science to explore some two million exhibits spanning disciplines including archaeology, botany, ecology, zoology, and paleontology. The dinosaur exhibits will interest mini dino fans, and the great Antarctica section may inspire future explorers. In the evening head out for a family dinner and catch a live tango show.

The next day takes a trip to an Estancia, a typical Argentine ranch. Here you and your family will become immersed in the country’s nature, history and tradition. Children can choose from a range of activities and depending on the specific ranch you visit, they might go horse riding, exploring, swimming or even learn how to work on a farm. There may also be the opportunity to watch a local dance and see a gaucho, an Argentine cowboy, performance. Plus, you’ll get to sample Argentine beef as part of an ‘Asado’, a tasty cultural culinary tradition.

5-7
Bariloche
Activity and Adventure
Next, you’ll fly to Bariloche. After you touchdown, you’ll be met and taken to your accommodation at the Villa Huinid on the beautiful shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. After your journey, you can unwind in the alpine surroundings. Take a dip in the pool, explore the play area or try one of the hiking trails.

The next day, head out on Moreno Lake for a fun-filled morning of kayaking. After you’ve been taught some basic kayaking skills, you’ll paddle out to the foot of Mount Lopez overlooking Nahuel Huapi Lake. From here, you’ll navigate down a narrow river to get to Moreno Lake. As you paddle and explore together, you might like to discover Llao Llao Park or circle De Los Clavos Island and stop to photograph some of the local wildlife. After around two hours of kayaking, you’ll stop for snacks, before heading back to the hotel for lunch. The rest of your time in beautiful Bariloche is yours to spend together as a family. Perhaps you’d like to go mountain biking or enjoy a round of golf. It’s entirely up to you!

8-10
El Calafate
Activity and Adventure
Today it’s on to Calafate. Once you arrive, you’ll be transferred to your lakeside hotel, the Mirador del Lago, in the heart of Glacier Country. Your time here will be spent exploring the lakes of Patagonian Argentina. The following day, you’ll get to see Perito Moreno Glacier, Roca Lake and Argentino Lake. You’ll also see a sheep shearing demonstration at the centuries-old working ranch, Estancia Nibepo Aike, before tucking into a delicious lunch of grilled Patagonian lamb, beef steaks and sausage, with pancakes and homemade caramel for dessert.

After lunch, it’s all aboard a boat trip to the Southern and Rico arms of the Lake, where you can admire the views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Hop off at Las Monedas Beach, and together you’ll make your way to the face of Perito Moreno Glacier where you’ll have a chance to see the ice up close. Stay quiet and you’ll be able to hear the sound of the ice blocks calving into the water. You’ll finish up the excursion with a wander along the pretty walkways at Bajo de la Sombra. The rest of your time in Calafate is yours to spend together as you wish.

Iguazú Falls
Activity and Adventure
The final leg of your tour is spent in Iguazu. After a day relaxing together at your hotel, La Cantera Iguazu, it’s on to spend two days exploring Iguazu Falls. Lonely Planet declared the Falls as 'one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring sights', so you know you’re in for a treat. You’ll start on the Argentine side, wandering along the paths of the lower circuit. After making your way under small waterfalls, hop over some streams and follow the path along to the basin of the Devil’s Gorge. From here, you’ll board an ecological train which will take you through the rainforest where you might spot monkeys and exotic birds. Disembark at the station and follow the pathway to the other end of the Devil’s Gorge where you’re greeted by a panoramic view of the upper lip of the Falls –the 90 meter Garganta del Diablo. Then it’s time to explore the Upper Trail, where you’ll get to see the Falls up close and cross the Iguazu River to the Brazilian National Park and San Martin Island. Here, you’ll hike, enjoy evermore views and keep your eyes peeled for beautiful butterflies – what a way to finish an incredible family holiday.
