Day 1: Arrive in Santa Cruz de la Sierra

Welcome to Bolivia! Today you’ll arrive in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, a lowland city of 1.5 million inhabitants living at a staggering 1,312 feet (400 meters) above sea level with an average daily high temperature of 86°F. You will be picked up at the Viru Viru International Airport (VVI) and transferred to your accommodation in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. You can relax in the hotel and use the pool, or have a cool drink and settle in before this afternoon’s city tour. After having a lunch of your choosing, your bilingual guide will take you on a three-hour tour around the city center. Afterward, you'll have time to rest before tomorrow's activities.

Day 2: Tour of Sucre

This morning, a driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia and the place where the first resistance movements seeking to overthrow the Spanish colonial government began. 

On your tour of the city, you will learn about the city's role not only in Bolivian history but in the history of Latin America. First, you will visit La Casa de la Libertad, where Bolivia's proclamation of independence from Spain was signed. You will also visit the ASUR Museum of Indigenous Art, a "living" museum with textiles from the southern Andes, art by indigenous groups from the region, and local artists working in the city. 

After your museum visit, you'll have the rest of the evening free to continue exploring Sucre or stay at your hotel.

Day 3: Potosí Walking Tour & Indigenous Art Museum

After breakfast this morning, a guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a three-hour journey to the colonial city of Potosí, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once you arrive, you'll take a walking tour of the city, which includes traditional colonial streets, the artisan market, and a visit to the famous National House of the Mint (Casa Nacional de la Moneda).

After your tour, you'll be transferred to your hotel, and you'll have the rest of the evening free. 

Day 4: Uyuni Salt Flats

After breakfast, a driver will pick you up at your hotel in Potosí and take you to Uyuni. You'll be able to enjoy the scenic journey four-hour ride across the highlands as we make our way to the gateway to the great Uyuni Salt Flats. 

You'll be able to book additional excursions and activities in the salt flats once you arrive at your hotel.

Day 5: Hiking Trip to Coquesa - La Paz

Today, you will head to the community of Coquesa to begin your hike up and along the base of the Tunupa Volcano. On your hike, you'll see colorful fields of quinoa, herds of llamas and alpacas, and spectacular views of the volcano. You can trek as much as time, interest, and abilities permit, and at the end of your day, you will be able to visit a chamber containing ancient mummies.

In the afternoon, a driver will return you to the airport in Uyuni, and you'll take an evening flight to La Paz. A driver will be waiting for you in La Paz to take you directly to your hotel.

Day 6: Free Day in La Paz

Today, you'll be able to enjoy a free day in this beautiful city. We'll be happy to suggest restaurants, help you arrange additional activities, or assist you in hiring a guide or private drive. 


Day 7: Departure

It's time to say goodbye to Bolivia! After you have breakfast and spend a final morning enjoying La Paz, a driver will pick you up at your hotel. You'll be taken to the airport to catch your flight.
