Your Cambodian adventure begins today! You’ll fly into the capital city Phnom Penh, where you’ll spend your time touring the main attractions on a traditional cyclo, enjoying a sunset cruise and dinner on the Mekong River. On your last day finish off with a somber tour of Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek.

Kratie

Bid farewell to city life and head to Kratie by car. From there you’ll take a short boat ride to Koh Trong Island in the Mekong River. Here you'll gain an insight into typical Cambodian village life where people’s livelihood largely depends on rice farming and fruits cultivation. Be sure to try a pomelo fruit that grows here - they're delicious! During your time on the island, you’ll take a boat ride to try and spot the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins, explore island life by horse and cart or bike, if you prefer, and take part in a tree-planting project.

Wander around the peaceful location and admire the elephants as they graze and bathe.

Kampong Thom

As you begin your journey to Siem Reap, you’ll stop for an overnight stay in the market town of Kampong Thom. Spend your time here as you please exploring the markets, visiting nearby temple sights or simply relax with a beer.

The following morning you'll visit the lesser-known Sambor Prei Kuk, one of the most important pre-Angkorian sites in Cambodia which is earmarked as the country's next UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built between the 6th and 7th centuries, there are over 100 well-preserved temples scattered in the forest. The three main sites are linked by shady tracks and a walk between them offers lovely views of the surrounding landscape. You'll then stop at the nearby community eco-tourism village to see local crafts being made, before continuing onto Siem Reap.

10-14
Siem Reap
City
Here you'll visit the gateway to the fascinating temples and ruins of Angkor. You’ll spend your time in this captivating area visiting rarely visited pre-Angkorian forest temples, touring the ancient city of Angkor Thom by remork (similar to a tuk-tuk). You'll also explore authentic rural Cambodia taking an ox cart ride through Ta Brak, before partaking in a traditional Buddhist blessing ceremony. Continue out of town to Tonlé Sap Lake where you'll cruise past mangrove forests and stilt villages to a lesser-known village for lunch with a local family in their home.

On Day 14 you’ll depart for home dreaming of your wonderfully rich Cambodian experience.
