RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Drive on the right side

  • Seat belts are required

  • Minimum driving age is 18/To rent is 25

  • Speed limits: in cities 60km, rural areas 80 km, highway 120km

  • Must have a passport, driving license (from your country) and credit card to rent a car

  • These you’ll only encounter in towns when driving in Jordan. They start to blink orange when the light is about to turn red.

The speed limits in India vary greatly by state and type of vehicle, so it’s best to read up ahead of time about the driving rules in the state you’re visiting. The speed limits below are those set by the national government, although the actual limits may vary by state.

Highways                                       100 km/hr (62 mph)

Interstates                                      120 km/h (75 mph)

National Upper-Speed Limit         140 km/h (87 mph)
