5. The change of seasons
Sleeping Beauty may have missed the drama of the changing seasons, but you certainly don’t need to. The City of Spires is as magical in the summer sunshine as it is frosted with snow in the colder months. There are over 200 parks and green spaces scattered throughout the city, which offer dramatic beauty for every season.
6. Christmas markets
Prague may be enchanting year-round, but when Christmas comes rolling in, the magic kicks up a notch. There are several Christmas markets in Prague, but none quite as storybook-special as the Christmas Market in Prague’s Old Town ‘Staromestske Namesti’.
The most distinctive thing about Czech Christmas markets are the scent of svařené víno and Starozlata Medova (warm honey liqueur). However, a favourite take-home gift remains the famous Czech Christmas potpourri called purpura.

Forget the Princess and the Pea. In Prague, the only food you’ll want to find under your mattress is the city’s sweet treats. At the turn of the 20th century, Prague’s most famous cafés were the haunt of the city’s intellectuals, artists and creatives. Today, follow in their artistic footsteps and seek out trdelník, medovnik (a type of honey cake), apple strudel and, over Christmas, the traditional gingerbread.
8. The Botanical Garden
Prague Botanical Garden at Charles University is the oldest botanical garden in the country and features many beautiful subjects for a range of Prague photos. After a busy day of exploring, you’ll find greenery and a good dose of peace and quiet in the heart of the city centre here.
9. Picture-perfect outdoor dining
Never far away, the Vltava River winds its way through this ancient city. At its edge are flower-box filled cafés where patrons can enjoy a local Pilsner Urquell or glass of chilled Riesling. Put the camera down, forget about snapping award-winning Prague pictures for a minute and simply relax.

10. Riverside strolls
In summer, pop into the supermarket to stock a picnic basket of delectable local fare which you can enjoy on the sidelines of a leisurely stroll along the river. The cooling breezes off the Vltava will leave a spring in your step.
11. Prague State Opera House
Even Cinderella in her finest would be envious. Deck yourself out in your own glass slippers and slip away for a night at the Prague State Opera House. Enjoy an evening marvelling at Bohemia’s most celebrated performers, but take care to snap your photos outside.
